SECTION 6.5.6 - SEARCH FOR
ACTUAL DATE
USAGE: To find a transaction based on its actual date of
entry.
DISCUSSION: Each time you enter a transaction, anywhere within
HiFinance, the system time stamps it with the computer date. The SEARCH FOR ACTUAL DATE program searches
through all the transaction files and prints list of all occurrences of a
specified date. This function is particularly useful when you wish to find a
lost transaction or when you wish to reconstruct an audit trail.
When you start the program, you are asked:
ENTER TRANSACTION ACTUAL-DATE TO SEARCH FOR
[00/00/0000]
Enter a date press <Enter> or <F10>. Alternatively, you may
press <F1> to insert today’s date.
HiFinance will then search for that date and present you with the report.
