SECTION 2.1.2 - MODIFY A
CREDITOR
USAGE: Modify the details of an
existing Creditor. This option is only used for changing the static information
such as the Name. Normally, it is also possible to change the Creditor’s code
here, also.
DISCUSSION: When you start the MODIFY
program, the computer will initially ask for a code. Insert the code and press <Enter>.
To return to the CREDITOR MAINTENANCE MENU, press <ESC>.
To search for an account, press <F9>. For further details on searches, see SECTION 1.2.
Having entered a valid code, the computer will
display the current information pertaining to that account. You can modify any
of the fields that are surrounded by brackets. Also, you have the following
options available via the function keys:
<F1> This will cause HiFinance attempt to read the
previous Creditor record. If there is one, it will be displayed. HiFinance will
move to the previous record without saving any changes you might have
made.
<F2> This will cause HiFinance attempt to read the next
Creditor record. If there is one, it will be displayed. HiFinance will move to
the next record without saving any changes you might have made.
<F4> This allows you to enter or modify a note detailing
any non-structured information. The information you enter here will be
displayed during PURCHASING.
<F9> This initiates a search through the Creditor Group
master-file. The Creditor Group chosen will be automatically inserted into the
Creditor Group field.
<F10> will complete your entry, after checking for any
inconsistencies and confirming your request. Your changes will be saved to
disk, over-writing any previously stored information.
<ESC> will return you to the Creditor code entry routine
without updating the Creditor master-file.
If
you have the CRM option enabled in you company, when you have updated a Creditor,
you will be asked:
UPDATE CONTACT
TABLE FOR THIS CREDITOR? (Y+/N-) [N]
This allows you to add or modify any contact details for the current Creditor. The Main Display Contact can be modified using this function, or via the main maintenance screen. These options are equivalent.
