SECTION 3.4.6.4 – STOCK PROVISION

 

USAGE: To print a list all Stock that has exceeded the 2 year limit. The report will scan through all Inventory items computing the times they were purchased and how long the stock has been held. The report then computes an expected number of months till the stock is sold out, based on average sales.

 

DISCUSSION: This report is specific to those sites that are setup to use it. The report will only function properly if transactions are entered in a specific way.

 

When you enter this program, the following questions will appear:

 

CUT OFF AT: YEAR        Enter the year as either L for last-year, T for this-year or N for next-year.

 

PERIOD     Enter the period number, 1 to 12 for last-year and this-year and 1 to 3 for next-year.

 

HiFinance will default to the current year and period.

 

To start the report, press <Enter> through each field or simply press <F10>.

 

The report itself will detail the Inventory code, Description, Inventory Group, Quantity on-hand, Value on-hand, Stock on-order, Net stock (the on-hand less on sales-order) ROS or current months-in-stock, Stock on-purchase-order, Net Stock-on-hand including Purchase-orders, average-cost, number of months in stock, Current sales (units), the current provision in dollars and the provision as it was last period and finally, the change between in these. The last 3 columns are totalled.

 

Once the report is printed, you have an option to export the report as a CSV file. The options are similar to other ASCII export programs in that you can choose which fields you wish to export.
